Making video's is so much fun. If I have fun doing it my students will have a blast. Their video doesn't need to be the best quality, it just needs to show that have been proactive.

Progress on Personal Project

Since I'm going to be a health teacher I decided to design a lesson plan that would be somewhat related to health. I came up with the lesson plan of how to be proactive. I thought this was very health related because it will teach my students how to be responsible for their own behavior. For a homework assignment I would have the students split up into groups and do something proactive and present it to the class by making a simple video. I want them to be creative. The school I'm teaching at has macs so my students can use imovie to make their video. I'm going to make a video for my students introducing the assignment to them and motivate them to do the assignment. In the video I'll also present ideas of what my students can do to be proactive. In my lesson plan I would go over the information listed on this website about Habit 1.

Multi Media Project

Creating this very short video was a lot of work, at least for me. I had a blast coming up with new ideas but putting them into action was a little more difficult. When I'm a teacher I think it would be very helpful to have short video's that help to make a topic more interesting. Even if the students did a project, I'm sure they would love it.

My Classroom Website

Thanks so much for remembering I got married, it means a lot to me. Alright so I wasn't sure how to let you know my assignment was done, I promise I had it done before the due date. Thats why I just made the rubric. Okay so click this and you'll find my website. Creating website takes more time than I thought. Learning new technology can be frustrating but at the same time exciting because its fun to learn new stuff. I know for sure that I can't create a classroom website overnight; it would take me quite a bit of time and would definitely need to plan ahead.

Internet Safety

In Elder Ballard's talk "Let our Voices be Heard" He mentions that there is tons of good on the internet but we need to choose wisely. When we do so the internet can be a fabulous tool. He also says "Of course the most basic way to protest negative-impact media is simply not to watch it, see it, read it, or play it." The internet has good and bad and by choosing wisely we can avoid the bad and do good in the world. Charles D. Knutson wrote an aritcle talking about MMORGs, massive multiplayer online role-playing games, which ruin lives. The thing about MMORGs is that the game never stops once you log off, so people become addicted and feel the need to be on the game all the time. As I was talking to my fiance about this we promised each other to never let technology come between family and out relationship. Its important to know that real life is not life on the computer but with family and those who we can see and touch.

Very Funny Soccer bloopers

Aren't these bloopers so funny! Alright so a few things that they did right was that they showed a website of where this video came from. The thing is people can watch this over and over again for entertainment and entertainment, I understand, is one reason why things are copyrighted. I have a feeling that most of the videos on youtube are not copyrighted correctly.

This video didn't have any photos but it used music that was not cited at the end of the video. The director did a great job with putting credits at the end of the video but he forgot or didn't realize that he needed to cite the music he used and where he got the video's.

I chose to subscribe to my boring blog and My adventures in technology because they have my same major. I subscribed to a news website because as a health teacher I want to know what is going on in the world.

First day in IP&T 286

Here's my Blog! Wow, I never knew this could be so fun! My technology back round is about average. I know how to surf the internet, use word and a little of powerpoint. I'm so excited to learn all these cool things you can do with technology. My personal goals for this course is to feel confident and educated about using technology in my future classroom. I want to be able to bring in video's from the internet, if I need to. Just simple things like that. I would have to say the first day in this class went really well.
